We are involved in various stages of capital project development: investment profiling, private initiative presentation, feasibility studies, bidding presentations, and financing structuring.
Our Areas of Expertise
The development of infrastructure and energy projects requires comprehensive analysis and strategic planning to maximize return on investment and minimize risks.
At EXANTE, we provide specialized advice at every stage of the project lifecycle, from initial assessment to financing structuring and financial model review.
Our team has extensive experience in the sector, enabling us to help our clients navigate the complexities that characterize these projects.
Our project and tender evaluation service covers everything from developing an investment profile to feasibility analysis and preparing economic bids. We guide our clients through each step, providing a comprehensive, well-founded view aimed at increasing their chances of success in tendering processes
Investment Profile Development: We create a detailed investment profile to assess the project's feasibility and expected profitability. We analyze the project's structure and objectives, as well as the resources and costs involved, ensuring a financially sound investment case
Economic and Financial Feasibility Analysis: We conduct a thorough analysis of both the economic and financial feasibility of the project. Our evaluation covers projected cash flows, anticipated returns, operating costs, and capital structure. Our objective is to provide a transparent and accurate basis for investment decision-making
Economic bid preparation for tenders: Preparing a competitive bid requires a deep understanding of both the project's objectives and the tender's expectations. At this stage, we assist our clients by developing a financial-economic plan that aligns with the contractual framework governing the tender and provides credibility to potential project financiers
Financial Model Development: The financial model we develop serves a dual purpose:
As a tool for analyzing bidding strategies and achieving the desired balance between bid competitiveness, expected profitability, and third-party financing feasibility.
To optimize the financial structure associated with the bid presentation and serve as the foundation for negotiation strategies with potential financiers.
At EXANTE, we support our clients throughout the entire process of submitting Private Initiatives under Law No. 17,555 or Law No. 18,786 (Public-Private Partnership Law)
Our work includes:
Financial advisory regarding the legal framework under which to submit the Private Initiative.
Discussion of the business model, evaluation of alternatives, and definition of the business model to be presented.
Economic-Financial Modeling of the initiative at the investment profile level, with emphasis on:
Projected revenues
Required investments
Maintenance costs
Administrative expenses
Taxes
Financing
Co-financing needs from the State or availability payments
Other relevant aspects
Drafting the relevant chapters related to the above mentioned points, as applicable.
Supporting the client in meetings with public agencies involved in approving the initiative.
Once the Private Initiative is approved, we assist our clients in preparing the feasibility analysis that must be presented.
If the initiative is submitted under the PPP Law, we support our clients in the submission process as outlined in Chapter VII of Law No. 18,786.
Once the tender is awarded, we support our clients in obtaining the necessary financing to execute the project, including Senior Debt, potential Subordinated Debt, or the required Equity.
At this stage, EXANTE’s work includes the following activities:
Request for Financing Offers: Our team, in coordination with the client, will manage the negotiation process with potential lenders (currency, term, rates, covenants, guarantees, etc.). Additionally, EXANTE will provide advisory services for the analysis and negotiation of the different "Term Sheets" obtained (from a financial perspective) and will work closely with the client’s legal advisors
Negotiation and Selection of Offers: EXANTE will assist in evaluating the financing offers received and negotiating with financial institutions to secure the most favorable terms
Assistance in loan agreement negotiation and financial closing: We will provide financial advisory services for the analysis and negotiation of the contracts to be signed at the final stage
Our financial model review service aims to provide assurance to financiers or third parties that the model developed by a project sponsor adheres to the following standards
Accurate formulation
Integrity in calculations
Alignment of results with the underlying assumptions
Compliance with contractual conditions
Fulfillment of financial conditions established in the financing terms (covenants, restrictions)
Preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with applicable accounting and tax regulations
The service may include an assessment of the assumptions used in the preparation of future cash flows.
Through a careful review of the models, we provide a set of recommendations to ensure the model fulfills its intended purpose and meets high standards of reliability and functionality.
EXANTE's team has experience reviewing models for various infrastructure projects, including renewable energy generation (wind and solar), green hydrogen production, airports, hospitals, correctional facilities, road infrastructure, educational centers, and others under different legal contracting frameworks (Concession Contracts, Public-Private Partnerships, etc.) and financing structures (Project Finance, traditional bank financing).
Our team has supported numerous local and international financiers, ensuring robust and reliable models for long-term, capital-intensive projects.
We help our clients make informed decisions on long-term projects involving significant investments, fully committed to their success".
